There's always something to be done. The management make ambitious goals, and so often there is a sense of urgency to get things done on time. There is not often a dull time when there is nothing to do.

Most days i'm exited about thinking of new improvements and tackling issues that have come up.

Not sure if there is a way to make Mendix a better workplace, but I would keep myself open for feedback (and let my subordinates know that their feedback is welcomed). Giving people the assurance that their workplace is a safe place, and they don't have to worry about office politics or potential harassment - that everyone is respected as an individual. I think Mendix already does a good job at this, so if I was a boss, I would work to simply uphold these values.

There's a lot of focus on hiring people who aren't only capable but also great to be around. I can get on just fine with even the most anti-social Mendixite, and the vast majority is a great bunch of people, both individually and in a group.
